Horse to lease or half-lease. College sophomore had to leave horse in NM. Ideal situation would be a lease with a college kid in the same situation – I can give you your horse back in the summer! Also willing to do a half-lease or just on-farm riding within 40 minutes of Mount Holyoke College. C-2/HB PC’er, Dressage Champs 2006, Novice Champs 2007. Can provide references. I'm 16 1/2 years old, active C3 Pony Clubber who would like to move along in the levels. I am looking for something a bit younger than what I have now (a 17 year old Holsteiner) who will help me "broaden my experience." I am 5'8" tall so 16+ hands is a must. Those who know me know I am active in Pony Club events, clinics, rallies, and ratings. We always provide excellent and knowledgeable care for our horses. We have two horses living in our four stall barn along with two pygmy goats. Our horses have individual paddocks in and out of their stall and a bigger community paddock. If you know of anyone who is looking for a good home for their horse, please forward this message to them. They can contact me via email at catrinahellmer@msn.com or via cell phone at 603-801-2819. Pony Club type horse wanted - I don't know if this situation exists out there, but it's worth asking.I am looking for an honest, decently schooled horse for intermediate level students in a lesson program.Maybe you have a horse that is not doing much, due to you being in college,or work or life committments getting in the way??maybe you are having a hard time affording your horse currently, but hoping your own situation will improve in the future?Maybe you are undecided on selling, and would consider a free lease instead?or giving the horse to a good home, after a short term lease? The ideal horse can be gelding or mare,15-16.2 hands tall, and just about any age as long as there are no major age-related health issues. It should be fairly well schooled in dressage, know how to get round without a lot of trouble, know basic lateral work, have mostly comfortable gaits.Should also be an honest jumper, capable of a 2'6" course. We trail ride a lot,so if it's safe and sane on trails, that's a bonus. So is show experience.Must trailer well.Basically, the kind of horse you'd want your kid to have for pony club is what I'm looking for....doesn't have to be fancy. I DO NOT run a large lesson program where the horses are ridden into the ground just to make a buck.I am not looking for a horse for beginners,so you need not worry about someone bouncing around and yanking on your nice horse.Horses are worked basically only once a day, maybe 4-5 days a week. Can provide excellant referances from vet, farrier, boarders, students, etc.Horse will be very well taken care of.If this situation interests you, even if your horse doesn't fit the description exactly, but comes close, please email me at phf-eventer@earthlink.net or call (603)966-8729. Do you love thoroughbreds? interested in a project to reschool? can you offer a wonderful home with lots of TLC? I have a 13 yr old gelding that needs his very own person to love him.Approx 15.2 hands and dark bay(looks black).I picked him up earlier in the year to improve his situation, and in hopes he might work as a lesson horse. He has now been brought UTD on his shots, coggins, worming, teeth floating, farrier and has put on a good amount of weight.Unfortunately, while he is a sweet horse to handle,he is a bit too sensitive to be put into the school program, and needs more schooling than we counted on.He did race when younger, and I am told he was someone's trail/backyard horse at one time, but he appears to have no formal schooling outside of that.If you are interested in a training project, and a personal horse(not a quick resale ) please feel free to inquire for more info.He is not a candidate for jumping, better suited to dressage and pleasure/trail riding.Would do very well with someone who would blend basic dressage with a little natural horsemanship.Might need to be on a joint supplement to be in regular work.I would also be willing to let him go to a good home as just a companion horse if anyone needed one.If you are going to inquire, please - be 16 yrs of age or older;have experience riding/training,NO BEGINNERS;be able to provide referances;use kind training methods/no rough "breaking".I will only let him go to a good home.He is free to the right person. One line emails just requesting pictures,or those without a phone number, will not be returned.Serious inquiries only please.Contact Tori for more info at phf-eventer@earthlink.net or 603-966-8729. Free Lease to Right Home – Lead Line Pony Extraordinaire:  I have an adorable 13 hand, Welsh pony named Pumpkin who I would consider free leasing under the right circumstances.  I bought him 2 years ago trying to spark a little interest in my two young daughters.  It hasn’t really happened and he’s basically become a beloved pet.  I would let it be if he was old but he’s only 11 and should be doing something.  I bought him out of a very, very busy South Shore riding program where he h ad escaped and moderately foundered.  He was not sound enough for a serious “A” pony show life with jumping, or multiple “serious” lessons a day.  I have had absolutely no trouble, even at his busiest – pony camps, a month of spring tune up after the winter at instructors, when my girls were lead line showing, etc. but I do have an excellent farrier.  I might consider a very small, homey type lesson program but would prefer a “horsey” Mom or Dad who just wants a little cutie to play with their kids and get them going.  Fabulous away from home and has raked in the blue ribbons at very local shows – great trail & costume class pony too.  Off the lead line he has some “pony tricks” which is why I suggest him as a lead liner.  Perhaps with someone more consistent and more in tune with ponies he could be perfectly fine.  My kids are just plain not interested in riding.  100% excellent about vet, farrier, trailer, shows, have lead line hacked him a lot, no kicking, biting, bucking, rearing, totally barn safe with kids, dogs, etc.  Loaded him up too many times to remember to be a babysitter for nervous horses and even thrown him loose in the indoor while I have a lesson.  He’s a bit pushy, esp. for food but he is a pony!  He’s got LOADS of personality and is definitely the barn cut-up just dying for attention.  I don’t want to sell him as I worry about his old founder in the wrong hands but if I can find him a job and the right situation he’s a love and some child with a passion for ponies could be very happy.  We’re endless green fields here so he does “live” in a grazing muzzle for ˝ the year.  I’ve spent 6 months thinking about this because my children do love him but don’t ever ask to ride or groom and this will be very sad for them with lots of begging involved.  I can feel the guilt already!   Feel free to contact me with any questions or for more pictures.  wnbriggs@comcast.net or 413-477-8720.  Picture (posted 09/06/08)

He's been jumped over some lower stuff both in the ring and on the trail and shows potential. I've just been more concentrated on giving him a solid foundation on the flat. Hacks out alone and in a group. Trailers, baths, ties, and is good for the vet and farrier. He needs a confident intermediate rider, as he is forward. FOR SALE (or possible lease). Beautiful 9 year old, 14 hand, registered Haflinger gelding. Andre Aspen has competed at Apple Knoll, Groton Pony Club, Hilltop, and the Middlesex County 4H Fair. He was a qualified field hunter with Tanheath Hunt for three years. He has been used for beginner lessons and as a lunge pony. He has nice comfortable gaits and does jump. Andre LOVES to trail ride and is great in company or by himself. Andre is very friendly and will follow you around. He trailers well and gets on with other horses. He’s great with vet and blacksmith. He is up-to-date on all shots. He is currently bare foot and will live out year round. He is not a “first” pony, but could go far with the right loving owner. Asking $3500. 6 year old, 16.2 standardbred gelding free to a good home. Otis is a calm dependable mount, suitable for trails. Could be a great "buddy" horse that friends/family/non-horsey people could hop on for trails. He has great ground manners and is a very easy ride. However, he was in some sort of accident (I have very little info) and damaged both his hocks. He will not be able to show without regular injections, as he is just "off" enough that he would be pulled from a class. He goes walk/trot/canter and jumps 3'. I haven't pushed him more as it is a pain issue and he has trouble in the ring/on circles. He is fine on trails. Pics on request. ask for Liz, 603-654-2647. (posted 03/24/08)
